Not a catch up post

I realize I haven't blogged in a very long time. And a lot has happened since my last post. So in an attempt to get caught up I looked through the pictures on my phone and quickly realized that getting caught up was going to be a feat I was not going to take on so instead I would just post some recent pictures and an update on what we are doing right now.

I'm all graduated from my intern class and so our hotel stays have come to an end.

Lina loved loved going to the hotel while I was at the regional office. One night they mistakenly put us in a double queen room instead of the king suite so the girls got their own big bed.

The perks of the hotel stays were having full breakfast buffet every morning, the 6 minute commute to work, and seeing how excited Lina. The downside was that I missed sleeping in my own bed, I had to pack us for a week at a time, and it wasn't for a vacation.

According to my last post, I was still pregnant. Well surprise I had a baby! She is now 4 months old. How did time fly by so quick. She started rolling. I am convinced it's her attempt to escape from Lina.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to rotate these pics now that I've uploaded them here.

My birthday came and went and although I am still in my 20's I didn't get too excited about celebrating. However, I did get a pretty sweet gift from my siblings. Candi picked up a sweet headboard. Jonathan and Megan whipped it into this sweet bench. It will be featured in our family pictures for sure.

Lina had her second dentist appointment this week. She did so well. We made a lot of progress since her last appt 6 months ago. Last time she wouldn't even sit in the chair. She took her prize and booked it. Since then we've talked it up and even role played a bit. All of the preparing paid off, she let them examine her teeth and even polish them up.

Girls' Room...still a work in progress

We decided on yellow and grey for the girls' room and slowly but surely we got some paint up on the walls. Thanks to my little brother Jacob, I didn't have to paint a single wall!

I visited Wood Connection in UT and found some cute ideas for their room. Here are the finished products.
Soon enough we will have it all finished with wall hangings. I'm looking forward to that!

Easter 2012

Easter at Grandpa's for the egg hunt. Being the only grandchild has many benefits.
Grandpa Alan and Abuelita Lari hid 100 eggs for her. She was in heaven!

Easter Sunday we went to church as a family! Yay! We were so grateful that Clint's schedule worked out that way.

After church we came home for a wardrobe change (into her 3rd of 4 Easter dresses) then headed to Abi's for Easter lunch.
Then ended the day at Tia Candi and Tio Armando's for another egg hunt and Easter dinner.

Days off with Lina

Every now and then mine and Clint's schedules match up so we have a day off together. I usually wake up with a list of things we need to get done and have a plan for using our time in the most effective way by checking off these things from my list. Clint has a way of keeping things in perspective and making time for the important things I tend to leave off my list.

For example...

Playing at the park with Lina.
Taking a cat nap in the middle of the day.

and playing on our make shift water slide with BFF/cousin/neighbor, Charlie.

By the end of the day my list has usually gotten longer but I am so grateful for my little family and the time we get to spend together.

Annual Good Weather Hike

Every year, as my past posts show, we take an annual hike as the weather turns promising. This year was no exception. Lina did really well all the way up. She insisted on running on the way down which inevitably led to a few too many slips so Clint ended up carrying her down.

The hike was a success. Lina even had the opportunity to try out her wilderness potty break skills.

Ragnar 2012...survived.

Twelve people. Two Vans. 200 miles. Two days.
This time we were van 2.
Here we are in all our exhausted glory!

Heather

Me

Abby

Shannon (our last minute replacement, thank heavens!)

Jodi

Tawnya

At this point we were still all smiles.

Then the exhaustion started to set in.

Then it won us over.

So we crashed my in law's house and they were gracious enough to make us breakfast and lend us their couches for a couple of hours.

Oh and can't forget the sunbathing station we commenced at the last major exchange

and then we finished! barely!

Now that I am pregnant...

This is what I look like.

This is what I like to eat.

This is what my nightstand looks like.

This is what is on Clint's nightstand.

And this is what Lina does.

Interestingly enough my second pregnancy is flying by! "Busy" is what I considered my life before I got pregnant. Now that I have to fit in prenatal visits, time to put together the nursery, and can't forget cat naps, I feel "hectic" might be a more approrpiate word. Once this baby gets here I think the new word to describe my state of mind will be "madhouse".

the girl with many faces

Surprised Face

Sad Face

Grumpy Face

Silly Face

Sleepy Face

Happy Face
A few random realizations that have hit me lately:

My baby isn't really a baby anymore.

She hears EVERYTHING I say.

Her memory is like a steal trap.

Sometimes she repeats things in public that I said in private
(that I didn't even know she heard me say).
